About

Many of us sat in a new stillness over the last two years observing our lives with a new level of scrutiny, rethinking how we live in connection (or disconnection) to what is wild. Many of us have deepened our sense of place in the process, looking out our front door for solace.

Over the last year we’ve begun to gather a growing group of artists + writers from across the Northeast interested in examining our current environmental and cultural moment. We’re soon to launch our forthcoming journal exploring our connection to what is wild by way of home, here in the Northeast U.S.. We decided to forgo a subscription model for now and the need to deliver a certain number of issues annually. We’re creating a hybrid of a book & a print journal, delivering one volume to begin, releasing further volumes as we are inspired. You can support this by pre-ordering your copy here.

It’s an interesting time on our planet filled with challenge and opportunity. Deep ecologist and author, Eileen Crist talks often about our world needing new models, and in particular, regional and local ones. As technology grants each of us greater mobility and movement, our sense of place is suffering erosion. In many ways our journal is an experiment in conversation, contemplation, and consideration of these thoughts.

While celebrating the joy of place, we’re inviting contributing voices to help us see the forest for the trees of our current ecological and cultural moment, to explore where we’ve been and were we might see ourselves in the future.

You can support this idea by pre-ordering Volume 01, which directly supports each writer and artist involved.
